I work in our clinic’s therapy and rehab department assisting our providers with patient care. I am also the Therapy Assistant Team Leader which means I coordinate staffing and schedules for our therapy assistants, oversee staff training, and assist in staff hiring. I am licensed as a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), Chiropractic Therapy Assistant (CTA), and Chiropractic X-ray Technician (CXT) but have bee spotted filling in at the front desk, repairing tables and machines, and staring really hard at computers trying to convince them to work properly.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you like to be?
That one is tough. There are about a million places I would like to visit but honestly I really love East Tennessee and would have no regrets always living here. However, I am not opposed to an adventure if the opportunity ever shows up.
What is the one piece of advice you would like to share with the world?
Whining and complaining without even considering change or solutions does nothing but fill the world with negatives.
What is your favorite holiday and why?
I am a holiday junkie. Any excuse to hang decorations and wear fun socks is good for me but I love the simplicity of Thanksgiving and the opportunity to show thankfulness. And to all of you shoppers out there, keep your crazy Black Friday from taking a day meant for family, food, and football!
What is your favorite way to spend a Saturday?
Mainly just relaxing and spending time with my husband and kids. My 4-year old loves going to yard sales so sometimes we like to sneak out on Saturday mornings for some Mommy-Daughter yard sale time! And NAPS. I love when I get to squeeze in a nap on Saturday.
What are your hobbies and interest outside of the office?
I like to get outside and go on a bike ride or run. I am also pretty active with church activities. Mainly, I enjoy doing stuff with the family and friends. My kids are 7 and 4 so there is always something fun to do with them.
List one interesting thing about yourself that others might not know:
I married my high school sweetheart and ended up in East Tennessee because I followed him to UT (even though I swore I would never follow a boy to college). Oh and I would love to be a back-up dancer in a hip hop video…. just once.
What is something that you are looking forward to?
Just seeing where life will lead and what plans God has in store for me and my family. I am also looking forward to when the Vols are a good football team again and am trying to wait patiently for that to happen. GBO!
Niki joined our team right after college and has been a fundamental member of our team ever since. She is the lubrication to our office machine, making everything work with minimal snags. She leads by example. Niki is always the first to volunteer, she is incredibly flexible and dependable, and she has a terrific sense of humor.
If you haven’t had a chance to meet her yet, you are missing out. She makes better people out of all of us here at Apple. Thank you for your dedication, Niki!
